Introduction to phpMySite-2.0

Why phpMySite?

phpMySite 1.x was written by John McCreesh. It is a simple content management system he put together for a number of web sites that he manages. I've taken his work and extended it into phpMySite 2.0. What were the goals we had for this project?

• We wanted to be able to maintain the sites from a simple web interface - no need to connect via FTP/Telnet/SSH etc.
• We wanted to be able to add / change / delete / re-order pages and have the system recreate its own menus automatically.
• We wanted to have basic site search facilities that didn't require any extra effort.
• We wanted to be able to change the appearance of the sites easily, without recreating lots of HTML.
